Indian travel blogger Jyoti Malhotra was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan, revealing a new ISI tactic of using social media influencers. Malhotra operated a travel YouTube channel named ‘Travel with Joe’, which has over 3.2 lakh subscribers along with a substantial following on Instagram and other social media platforms. Along with her, at least 12 others, have been arrested by Indian police on the suspicion that they are spying and sharing sensitive military information with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, an image of Jyoti Malhotra, where she is seen wearing a saffron cap and also a stole with the BJP party’s symbol lotus, stamped on it, is going viral on social media. The picture has the ‘Aaj Tak’ logo on it. This image is in circulation with the captions like “RSS व BJP की देश के साथ ग़द्दारी करने की फ़ितरत आज़ादी के आंदोलन से ही है. ये ज्योति मल्होत्रा जी हैं जिनकी गिरफ़्तारी करनी पड़ी सरकार को.” When translated, it claims, “RSS and BJP's habit of betraying the country is from the freedom movement itself. This is Jyoti Malhotra ji, whom the government had to arrest.”

Fact Check:
The claim that the image in circulation is a real one and YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra is a BJP party member is False. This image is AI-generated. When we searched for the Aaj Tak website and also the social media handles of Aaj Tak to find the viral image, we found that the image was never shared on any of their social media handles as well as the website.
We also found a fact check published by Aaj Tak itself, stating that the image was AI-generated. It also states that the cards published on social media use only white and yellow colors. The font on the viral image is also different from the font used on Aaj Tak postcards.
When observed carefully, we also found some discrepancies in the viral image. The lotus on Jyoti’s cap has a different petal pattern, and also their size and shape are different from the usual BJP’s symbol.
Here is the comparison.
We also checked the viral image using AI detection tools like isitAI and WasitAI; and found that the viral image was created using AI. Here are the screenshots of the results.
Hence, the viral image in circulation showing YouTuber Jyothi Malhotra wearing a saffron cap and stole as proof of her being associated with the national party is an AI-generated one. The claim that it is real and proves her association with the BJP party is False.
